Poems

Words Unspoken

She turned to go,

feeling she forgot something.

He turned,

stepping away,

feeling he forgot something.

She paused,

turning back,

lost for a final word.

He, too, lost,

something unsaid,

unfinished.

Step, lean,

his hand,

two fingers touch under her chin.

A kiss,

like a butterfly's sigh,

took both by surprise.

Then,

they could part,

haunted by a shadow of words unspoken.
